 Nayak: The Genuine Legend (transl. Hero) is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language political activity movie coordinated by S. Shankar and created by A. M. Rathnam under the Sri Surya Films standard. The film stars Anil Kapoor, with Rani Mukerji, Amrish Puri,

 Paresh Rawal, and Johnny Switch assuming supporting parts. A change of Shankar's 1999 Tamil-language film Mudhalvan, it centers around Shivaji Rao Gaekwad (Kapoor), a TV cameraman and, later, 

TV moderator, who coincidentally hears and records the discussion between the police with the Central Pastor of Maharashtra Balraj Chauhan (Puri) to take an apathetic stand during riots set off by a battle between undergrads and a transport driver. While talking Chauhan about the issues, Shivaji is tested to assume control over his occupation for a day.
